ABSTRACT

Korean Medical Association has made Code of Doctor's Ethics in 2002. Korean Doctors, however, do not know well and try to apply the code to acts. How do the doctors have to treat it? In order to answer to the question, I examined the usefulness of the code, it's limit, and binding feature of the code.

The code is useful for doctors to make correct ethical judgements easily. Such usefulness is limited by the possibility of mistake, contradiction with laws, and generality of it's expressions, but the limit can be reduced. So, it is wise that Korean doctors use the code with the notice of it's limits. Moreover, the doctors is demanded to apply the code, for it expresses the duties of them.
